Press play, then switch stations freely - the retuning follows you.

Chillout grew out of the back rooms of clubs - downtempo grooves, warm pads, café-del-mar sunsets stretched into whole evenings. It is music engineered to take the edge off a room, which makes it a natural fit for retuned listening. 432 Player takes live chillout stations from around the world and shifts them in real time from standard concert pitch to 432Hz, a slightly lower tuning that many listeners describe as warmer and softer on the ear. Nothing else about the broadcast changes - the same lounge classics, the same slow-motion remixes, the same DJs easing one track into the next. A lower tuning suits some music and not other music; downtempo is, for many people, where it feels most at home. Pick a station below and decide with your own ears.

Standard concert pitch places the note A at 440Hz, a convention recommended at a London conference in 1939 and later published as ISO 16. It was never the only candidate: Verdi lobbied for a lower reference in the 1880s, French law once specified 435Hz, and orchestras through history have tuned everywhere from 415Hz to 466Hz. 432Hz sits just below the modern standard - about a third of a semitone lower - and has attracted a devoted listening community. Some listeners describe music at 432Hz as warmer, softer or more relaxed; others hear no meaningful difference at all. Both are fair findings. We make no claims beyond the obvious one: the music is lower in pitch, and lower pitch changes character. What 432 Player adds is the ability to test the question on any of these stations instantly - the same broadcast, retuned in real time, with a one-tap return to standard pitch. The most useful opinion about 432Hz is the one you form yourself, on music you know, with your own ears.
