Your music
The player reads music from your own device. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is shared.
Adding music from your device
Open Library and use the two buttons at the top. Select Folders points the player at a music folder; Files picks individual tracks. Either way your files stay where they are and the player only reads them - nothing is copied to a server.
Folder or files: which to choose
Choose a folder if this is your music collection and you want it to be here every time you come back. Choose files if you just want to hear a few tracks now.
On a phone the app keeps a copy of what you added, so either choice survives.
If songs ask to be rescanned
Browsers give a website permission to read your files only for as long as you stay on the page. When you come back, that permission is gone and the songs cannot be opened, even though the files are untouched. The Rescan button in Library asks for access again and everything plays as before.
Your library, favorites and playlists are not lost when this happens - only the link to the files.
Playing a song
Press the play button on a song's artwork. The bar at the bottom of the screen shows what is playing; tap its title to open the full player with the artwork, the words and every control.
Keyboard shortcuts
On a computer, in the player: Space or K plays and pauses, the left and right arrows jump 10 seconds, the up and down arrows change the volume, M mutes, N and P skip to the next or previous song, S shuffles, R repeats, L adds the song to your favorites, and the number keys jump to that part of the song.
Tuning
This is the part that makes the player different, and it is already switched on.
The two chips under the title
The first chip is the tuning your file was recorded at, almost always 440 Hz. The second is what you are hearing now, normally 432 Hz. Together they tell you the tuning is working. Tap the second one to open the tuning controls.
Turning the tuning on and off
The tuning panel has a single switch at the top labelled 432 Hz tuning. Off means you hear the file exactly as recorded, which is useful for comparing the two.
The rest of the tuning panel
Everything below the switch is for people who want a different target, such as 528 Hz, or who want to control how the shift is made. If 432 Hz is what you came for, you never need to open it.
Custom target frequencies are a Pro feature; 432 Hz is free for everyone.
Speed mode and Pitch mode
Speed mode changes the speed and the pitch together, the way slowing down a record does. Pitch mode keeps the original speed and moves only the pitch, which is what you usually want for music.
Studio sound
Settings has a choice of tuning engine. Studio is our highest-quality engine; switch to it in Settings and every song and station uses it.
The Studio engine is part of Pro.
Favorites and playlists
Two ways to keep the songs you like, and one of them needs an account.
Favorites
The heart on any song or station keeps it in your Favorites. This works without an account, and it is the quickest way to keep track of what you like.
Playlists need a free account
A playlist is saved to your account rather than to this browser, which is what lets it appear on your phone and anywhere else you sign in. So you need to be signed in to make one. Creating an account is free and takes a moment.
If you would rather not sign in, use Favorites instead.
What plays next
The queue icon in the player shows the songs lined up after this one, and lets you reorder them by dragging.
Bookmarks inside a song
Mark moments in a track, then jump straight back to them or play just those parts. Handy for long mixes, recordings and the one part of a song you love.
Bookmarks are part of Pro.
Fixing a song's title or artwork
Open the three-dot menu on a song and choose Edit Track Info to correct a wrong title, artist, album or cover. Reading what is there is free; saving your corrections back to the file is a Pro feature.
Missing artwork
When a song has no cover, the player looks one up while it plays and fills it in on its own. Nothing is changed in your file unless you save it from Edit Track Info.
The player's panels
What each icon above the artwork actually does.
Equalizer
Changes the balance between low, middle and high sounds - more warmth, or clearer voices. It does not touch the tuning; the two are separate. Ready-made presets are free; the full ten-band control and the pre-amp are Pro.
Visualizer
An animation that moves with the music. It is decorative and never changes what you hear. Turn it on or off from the Now Playing card.
Lyrics
Open the lyrics panel while a song plays and the words are looked up online. When they come with timings they scroll along with the music, and you can pause the scrolling to read ahead. You can also paste or correct them yourself.
Sleep timer
The clock icon in the player stops the music after a time you choose, either straight away or by fading out slowly.
Skins
Settings has ready-made looks that change the player's colors and theme in one tap. Aurora and Porcelain are free; the other skins come with Pro.
Radio
Thousands of live stations, in tune, with nothing to set up.
Playing a station
Open Radio and press play on any station. There is nothing to add or set up, and the tuning is applied to the stream as it arrives, exactly as it is to your own files.
Keeping stations
The heart on a station row keeps it in your favorites so it is at the top next time. Search by name, or browse the most popular stations first.
Filtering stations
Narrow live radio down by country, language and style to find stations your way.
Radio filters are part of Pro.
Converting songs and videos
Make a 432 Hz copy to keep and play anywhere, right in your browser.
Making a 432 Hz copy of a song
Open the converter, choose an MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A file, and listen to the original and the 432 Hz version before you save. The song is retuned on your device and never uploaded, and the MP3 keeps its title, artist and artwork.
Without an account you can convert 1 song a day, with a free account 5 a day, up to 5 minutes each. Pro converts 15 a day, up to 10 minutes each.
Making a 432 Hz copy of a video
The video converter retunes the sound of a video file and gives you a new video to keep, right in your browser.
Without an account: 2 videos a day, up to 1 minute, with a watermark. With a verified free account: 3 a day, up to 6 minutes, no watermark. Pro: 20 a day.
